Napoli. This morning the officers of the San Ferdinando Police Station with personnel from the Port Authority - Coast Guard of Napoli – The PG Nucleus and the Local Police carried out an extraordinary service of territorial control and verification of the regularity of moorings, aimed at combating the phenomena of illegal building on the maritime state property in the stretch of water in front of the Mergellina area, the Diaz roundabout and at the pier below the “broken column”.
During the activity it was ascertained that at the Rotonda Diaz a man, a 41 year old Neapolitan with a police record, had set up a completely illegal refreshment area, characterized by the sale of drinks and food; therefore, an administrative fine of 5000 euros was imposed on him while a significant quantity of food and drinks was seized.
Furthermore, at the pier below the “broken column”, in the Piazza Vittoria area, the operators reported a 46-year-old Neapolitan for defacement and soiling of other people's property, invasion of land or buildings and illegal occupation of public space as provided for by the Navigation Code, as he had created an illegal beach resort, renting chairs and umbrellas without any authorization; finally, the equipment, consisting of 118 chairs and 21 umbrellas, was seized.
