At the same time, the modernization and strengthening of the safety systems inside the tunnels will be started Capodimonte, Vomero, Monte Sant'Angelo, and Solfatara, in line with the provisions of the most recent guidelines introduced by the Ministry.

The plan is the product of two years of studi conducted in collaboration with theFederico II University and with the support of the most qualified researchers in the sector who contributed to carrying out an in-depth analysis of the infrastructure with particular attention to its works. The study was the basis for starting the design phase.

“With this plan, Tangenziale's commitment to serving the city and the metropolitan area is renewed – said thead di tangential - to adapt the infrastructure to the most modern technologies and regulations. This initiative, in line with the indications of the Ministry of Infrastructure, is in tune with the large industrial plan implemented by the Autostrade per l'Italia Group which looks to more modern, more tech, more sustainable infrastructure with a vast modernization program across the national territory".

Among the many interventions planned are the strengthening with infrastructure (viaducts, tunnels, safety barriers and pavement regeneration); the implementation of the technological system Argon for infrastructure monitoring, developed by Moving on, technological spin-off of the Motorway Group for the 'Italy and, among other innovations, the installation of a new fiber optic network, new security systems and a new grazing lighting system that allows for energy savings of 15 percent while increasing safety and improving visibility.

A plan therefore gives the go-ahead to the evolution in terms of smart road of tangential and which includes the positioning of a new fibre optic network that will support subsequent technological developments along the stretch.
