Nocera, the Forestry Carabinieri save a Rottweiler puppy: it was tied with a short chain without water or food.

The military personnel of the Cava de' Tirreni Forestry Carabinieri Station were alerted by the 112 operations center for a case of mistreatment suffered by a large dog; the Nocera Inferiore Fire Department and the veterinary service employee of the ASL Salerno1 were also present at the scene of the report.

A Rottweiler dog was tied, with a short iron chain, to the railing of the terrace of a house, without food, without water and without any shelter from the inclement heat of the sun.

The soldiers then tried to contact the owner of the house and free the animal but without success and since the terrace was not reachable without accessing the house, they requested the help of the Salerno Fire Brigade who arrived shortly after with a vehicle equipped with a mobile basket thanks to which the soldiers managed to free the animal.

On land, the ASL doctor then found that the animal was showing symptoms of an imminent collapse, such as increased respiratory rate and extreme weakness, and decided to immediately hospitalize it in a suitable facility for the necessary treatment.
In the following days, some soldiers went to visit the puppy to check on the health of the rottweiler who, as soon as he saw his rescuers again, did not hold back in celebrating and wagging his tail.

Following the investigation, the military identified the owner of the dog and reported the events to the Judicial Authority.

With the arrival of summer and the increase in tourist travel, the sad and cyclical phenomenon of pet abandonment occurs again, causing accidents and victims among dogs, cats, and pets in general; abandonment and mistreatment of animals are cruel practices that the legal system punishes with even serious sanctions (imprisonment of up to three years) provided for in articles 544 ter and 727 of the Penal Code.
