Naples, illegal mooring discovered and seized in Mergellina. Checks by the State Police and the Coast Guard.
Yesterday morning, officers from the San Ferdinando Police Station and personnel from the Port Authority – Naples Coast Guard – PG Unit and the 2nd Underwater Operators Unit carried out an extraordinary service to control the territory and verify the regularity of moorings, aimed at combating the phenomenon of illegal building on state-owned maritime property in the stretch of water in front of the Mergellina area.

During the activity, the body of water near via Caracciolo was seized for a total of 985 square meters because it was illegally occupied by 42 pleasure boats and a 19-year-old Neapolitan was also reported for invasion of land or buildings and illegal occupation of state space as provided for by the Navigation Code; furthermore, it was ascertained that the man had set up a mooring system without any type of authorization.
Finally, 30 administrative fines were imposed on the owners of the boats for violation of the bathing ordinance and the Navigation Code.
