Giugliano Hospital, SMA Campania: intervenes to prevent closure due to water shortage. In one hour, two tankers deliver 30.000 liters of water to fill the tanks.

“The board of directors of the in-house company: Speed of action as the operational arm of the Civil Protection is of fundamental importance”.

Take immediate action to avoid, in 40 minutes, the temporary closure of the Giugliano Hospital. This is one of the actions that Sma (Meteorology and Environment Systems), the Campania Region company that collaborates with the Civil Protection, implemented yesterday, immediately responding to the alarm raised by the hospital in the province of Naples that had run out of water in the eight water supply tanks.

The running out of water would have led to the halt in the opening of the emergency room and then of the various hospital departments: a prospect on which the company immediately took action after the alarm raised at the Sma by Claudia Campobasso, director responsible for the Civil Protection of Campania.

Sma, directed by the new board of directors composed of president Tommaso Sodano, Fiorella Zabatta and Antonio Capasso, immediately deployed two tanker trucks to transport 30.000 liters of water.

The alarm call arrived at 16:16.30 p.m. and Sma immediately activated the first tanker, which at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. had already arrived at the Giugliano Hospital, starting to fill the tanks, thus avoiding a stoppage of the hospital's functions.

At 17pm the second tanker arrived, doubling the supply which eventually reached 30.000 litres of water distributed in the tanks.

“We are satisfied – explain the three members of the Sma board of directors – with the work that the Sma of the Campania Region, in support of the Regional Civil Protection, carries out daily in the regional territory. In just thirty minutes the first tanker was already at the hospital to avert the danger of interruption of the hospital service.

The speed of action and the promptness of intervention in emergencies like these, as we do for forest fires, are of fundamental importance. We will continue in our action, always working for a further improvement of the company's performances, both internal and external. A round of applause also to the virtuous employees, protagonists of these interventions".

The head of the Technical Office of the Giugliano Hospital will monitor the possible need for water in the next few days and will remain in contact with the Sma who, together with the Regional Civil Protection, will guarantee the emergency water supply service.
