After the sighting between Castel Campagnano and Alvignanello, the Province of Caserta invites fishermen to catch all the specimens to preserve the native species
The dangerousness of the catfish has been known for some time in the province of Caserta. In fact, this fish has been 'discovered' especially in the Volturno for some years.

Unfortunately, this is an animal that is highly aggressive with native species. A situation that led, following the news of the discovery of a catfish in the Volturno, the Agriculture, Forestry, Hunting and Fishing sector of the Province of Caserta to issue a direct warning to fishermen.

The document, signed by the director Paolo De Felice, highlights: “Following reports of the presence of catfish fry (Silurus Glanis) in the Volturno River, in the stretch between Amorosi, Castel Campagnano and Ruviano (Alvignanello hamlet), fishermen are advised, in the event of catching this species, of any size, not to put these specimens back into the water, in order to protect other native species, which are easy prey for the catfish”.

In the event that catfish specimens are caught, the Province has also invited fishermen to send photographic material of the catfish caught.
