The body found late this afternoon in the Pianura countryside is that of Andrea Covellii, even though his family refused to recognize him.
On the body, in an advanced state of decomposition, wounds attributable to gunshots were found. The investigators of the Flying Squad of the Naples Police Headquarters and the Pianura police station are investigating the disappearance of Andrea Covelli.
His mother Rosaria Vicino was taken ill and was unable to recognize him.
During some searches carried out by the police, the news of the discovery of the body arrived just as Andrea Covelli's mother had announced that she was about to go to the home of some local bosses to ask for news of her son.
The discovery took place in an area not far from where it is disappeared Covelli but of course we are waiting for the official identification of the body to formulate any hypothesis. The investigators, according to what we learn, consider it very probable that the body is indeed that of the young man.
“He went out to buy some croissants for a friend and never came back: we are living a nightmare, I want my son back”. The one who spoke was Rosaria Vicino, mother of the 27-year-old. Andrea – according to her reconstruction – was standing still, riding his scooter, waiting for his friend to show up, when he was approached by another scooter on which there were two people.
“It seemed like a robbery,” the young man’s mother added, “they took his phone and wallet. Then the passenger got on Andrea’s scooter and the other one loaded him onto his. From that moment on, there were no traces of my son. We are honest people who work, we are living a nightmare.”
