In the Poggioreale prison there are still strong tensions caused by the very few health personnel who stoically carry out their duties.
The complaint comes from Louis Castaldo, regional secretary of Campania Asppe confederated Consipe (confederation of trade unions Penitentiary Police), which explains: “The enormous amount of work for the now historic problem of overcrowding is carried out with great difficulty and critical delays that create great discomfort for those in prison who are responsible for maintaining order and security for the safety of all”.
And then he continues: “Protests and complaints of various kinds are the order of the day.
Only with ethics and a high sense of duty can we calm people down. The number of nurses and doctors working in Poggioreale is, to say the least, small and calling them “heroic” is even limiting, given the grueling shifts and the pandemic period still underway”.
And finally the appeal: “the general director of the ASL Na1 Dr. Verdoliva Ciro in synergy with the Governor of Campania Dr. De Luca Vincenzo, should intervene promptly by guaranteeing greater health resources mainly for the protection of everyone's health for the benefit of the collective interest”.
