The 22nd edition of the Massimo Troisi Award concluded with great success, with over ten thousand people attending in five editions.
Over ten thousand people crowded the arena of Villa Bruno, location of the event dedicated to the great actor from San Giorgio a Cremano. The award is organized and promoted by the Municipality of San Giorgio a Cremano and realized with a contribution from the Campania Region.
Competitions, music and lots of comedy were the factors that characterized this edition that saw the actor and showman Gino Rivieccio as the perfect host. Accompanied by the journalist Titta Masi, the artistic director welcomed great interpreters of national comedy such as Ezio Greggio and Ale and Franz – interacting with them in hilarious sketches and giving us other comic moments with short monologues that reconfirmed his artistic depth – and the loving testimonies in memory of Massimo by the actresses Sandra Milo and Nathaly Caldonazzo. The interludes by Vincenzo De Lucia were extraordinary with his funny imitations. The musical section was extensive with the eagerly awaited performance by Gigi Finizio and the surprising vocal performances by Super4 and Ebbanesis. There was also space for the young musical promises of GenZ with the showcases by Kya, Gaiè, Apno, Veronica Di Nocera and Eva Maus.
During the final evening, the jury, composed of Giancarlo Bozzo (artistic director of Zelig), Gaetano Liguori (artistic director of the Teatro Totò in Naples) and Pierluigi Iorio (artistic director of the Teatro E. De Filippo in Agropoli), assigned the awards for the competitions: the winner of the prize for “Best comic actor” was a tie between Federica Ferrero from Turin and Mariano Grillo from Naples. Both were awarded the trophy and, in addition to a cash prize, will have the opportunity to perform at the Zelig in Milan. The winner for the best “Comic short” is Alessandro Porzio with the work entitled “Come a Mìcono” while for the “Best Comic Writing competition, published work section”, first prize went to Lello Marangio for the novel “Il mercatino di Roccagioiosa” (Homo Scrivens editions). First prize in the “Unpublished Story” section went to Guglielmo Finazzer and Stefano Russo for the work “Il Circolo Vizioso”. Special mentions went to authors Raimondo Preti, Elisa Zaccagnini, Gianluca Papadia and Gabriele Bianchini. The “Premio Cremanum d'argento 2022” was awarded to actor Massimo De Matteo from San Giorgio a Cremano. The Cremanum is an award given by the Municipality to an artist who has distinguished himself in his professionalism and who has a connection with the city of San Giorgio a Cremano.
Several authorities attended the final gala: together with the Mayor Giorgio Zinno and Deputy Mayor Pietro De Martino, in the audience there were Dr. Luigi Riello, Attorney General of the Court of Appeal of Naples; the MEP Gioisi Ferrandino and the deputy and member of the Justice and Defense Commissions Gianfranco Di Sarno. The vice-president of the Regional Council Loredana Raia and the regional councilors Mario Casillo Francesco Emilio Borrelli.

We were able to celebrate our great Massimo just as he loved: with his friends and fellow citizens, with many artists who knew him, appreciated him and were inspired by him, as well as in the extraordinary presence of Nathaly Caldonazzo, his last life companion who moved us through unpublished stories of Massimo's life.
But above all we have once again achieved the goal of bringing out new, extraordinary talents in the art of comedy. The collaboration with Zelig has been the added value of this 22nd edition, as it has brought young comic actors of great interpretative quality and strong originality to the general public. And then the public: recording sold out every night is proof that the Award grows year after year and is capable of offering shows and cultural and artistic proposals that are always new. A round of applause goes to the Artistic Director Gino Rivieccio and to the entire team of municipal and non-municipal employees who have worked tirelessly, confirming the Massimo Troisi Award as a success for the entire city.
