Casa Mehari presents “Quarto Città dei Libri”, the literary review kicks off in the property confiscated from the Camorra. First appointment Friday 8 July with the writer Pino imperatore.

The literary review “Quarto città dei libri” – Estate 2022 is starting, organized at Casa Mehari, a property owned by the municipality of Quarto confiscated from organized crime. The structure is in via Nicotera n°8 in Quarto, Naples. The structure, inaugurated last May 20, is dedicated to Giancarlo Siani, journalist of the newspaper “Il Mattino”; Mehari is the name of the model of the Citroën car on which the young man was killed by the Camorra on September 23, 1985.
It starts on Friday, July 8, at 19:XNUMX p.m., in the company of Pino Imperatore, writer, journalist and comedian, together with his novels concentrated between realism, comedy and a hilarious underworld. It will be an opportunity to spend time with the author of “Benvenuti in Casa Esposito” and many successful books.
Second appointment on Friday 15 July, again at 19 pm, with a “shortlist” of authors who with their writings have contributed to the diffusion of culture, history and the valorization of local archaeology, namely: Marco Molino with “Neapolis – Puteolim.
A stroll on the hairpin bends of memory”, which leads the reader on a fictionalized journey made of nostalgia and flashbacks, but also irony and unprejudiced incursions into the current events of the ancient Neapolis-Puteolim via Colles, published by New Media Press; Fulvia Giacco and Franco Taglialatela with “Literna l'ultima Sirena”, a book with illustrations by Simone Prisco that narrates the adventures of Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus who, disgusted by the political climate of the Urbe, decides to leave Rome and heads towards Puteoli to take refuge in Liternum; the two authors will be accompanied by Camilla Tirelli, teacher at the Carlo Levi Classical High School in Marano, and by Francesco Piciocchi, actor, who will read some passages from the book; Fabio Cutolo with “Il Tesoro di Federico” (preface by the magistrate Raffaele Cantone), in which three boys experience daring adventures that lead them to interact with historical figures who had a real connection with the Phlegraean places, including Quarto: both works were published by Pro Loco Marano Flegrea.
Finally, Anna Russolillo, Gea Palumbo, Rosario Mattera and Leonardo Costagliola will present the smells and flavours of the culture of Procida, Capital of Culture 2022, thanks to the book: “Procida – People, cultures and cuisine”, published by the Cultural Association Villaggio Letterario.
Entrance to the literary review “Quarto Città dei libri” is free. The books presented will be donated to the Library of Casa Mehari, one of the projects of the temporary association of purpose to which “Casa Mehari” is entrusted for the duration of ten years. The a.ts is composed of the voluntary association “La Bottega dei Semplici Pensieri” (leader of the ats), the cooperative “La Quercia Rossa”, the cultural association “Artemide” and the association for social promotion “Dialogos”.
