It was last August 11th and together with 4 other accomplices he was the protagonist of a robbery in Riccione. Now he is in prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities and was arrested by the Carabinieri of the operational nucleus of the Naples center company. It is Giuseppe Di Matteo, 25 years old from the Spanish Quarters already known to the police.
Having left Naples, they had camouflaged themselves among the crowd of the Romagna nightlife for one goal only: valuable watches. The loot will speak of a watch worth 47 thousand euros and of a victim - a foreign tourist who came to Italy with his wife to spend the holidays.
The investigations of the Carabinieri coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Rimini had allowed the identification of the 4 suspects and the handcuffs that were snapped on June 22nd. However, the 25-year-old and another accomplice had escaped from the blitz but the Carabinieri of the operational nucleus of the Naples Center company were on his trail.
Having monitored his home and the places he mostly frequented, the military were hunting him down. Found shortly after midnight, the 25-year-old was in Piazza Trieste e Trento going downhill towards Via San Carlo aboard a car driven by a 30-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record.
Carabinieri recognized him and managed to block the vehicle. Arrested, the man was transferred to prison while the driver of the car was reported at large for the crime of personal aiding and abetting.
