Toxic fires in Caserta, unbreathable air: abandoned warehouse in Parete on fire.
The emergency of toxic fires in the province of Caserta, in that Land of Fires that for residents represents a real hell, does not subside.
The latest episode was recorded on the evening of Saturday, July 2, when in Parete – at around 19.30:XNUMX p.m. – a fire broke out near an abandoned industrial warehouse on via Salvo D'Acquisto, a rural road that connects the town in Caserta with Giugliano in Campania. The fire, fueled by the sultry climate and dry brushwood, quickly reached the external spaces of the building, which once housed a packaging factory, devouring the pile of production waste, plastic materials, wooden pallets and waste that had been lying abandoned in the open for some time.
In less than an hour, the cloud of black smoke invaded the entire area. The carabinieri of the local station arrived immediately, followed by the firefighters who put out the flames in a few hours. In that time, the toxic fumes, driven by the wind, reached the residential areas, making the air unbreathable for the entire night.
