Salerno. The former caregiver Giuseppe Buono was caught on camera and confessed to killing the elderly woman and injuring her 87-year-old sister Adele Martino, who is still hospitalized but not in danger of life.
The man, a 41-year-old resident of Baronissi, had tried to steal a large sum of money from the two women's homes. The murder occurred between 13:13.30 PM and XNUMX:XNUMX PM on Saturday. The surveillance cameras in the area and a shoe print were the culprits. The details of the murder were illustrated by the Public Prosecutor of Salerno Giuseppe Borrelli.
The investigations were conducted by agents of the Mobile Squad of the Police Headquarters of Salerno, who quickly identified the culprit. Buono, who stole a sum of 3.400 euros, proceeds from rents of properties and premises, did not know that in the house there was a real 'treasure' of approximately 380 thousand euros in cash stored in two wooden containers in the room of the brother of the victims.
The 40-year-old had locked the women's elderly, bedridden brother in his room when the two discovered him and attempted to escape to the tavern where, according to initial reconstructions, they were reached and hit with an iron stick that has not yet been found (perhaps thrown into a garbage bin).
Giuseppe Buono, accused of improper robbery, murder and attempted murder, after the end of his employment contract, had maintained a good relationship with the Martino family so much so that he visited them occasionally. He climbed over a low wall and entered the home of the women he had looked after in the past to steal money.
