New appointments with Salerno Danza Festival, the event taking place between July and August in the historic homes of Cilento dedicated to the languages of contemporary dance.
Sunday 17th, at the Giardino degli Ulivi in Ascea it's the turn of the Consorzio Coreografi Danza d'Autore Con.cor.da with “La Nona Quel che resta di noi e della terra”.
Flavia Bucciero, creator of the concept and choreography, starts from 2020, the year of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, but it is also the year of the Covid19 pandemic. On this basis, her design meets or rather meets again the Ninth Symphony: an ocean of notes with an unpredictable but extremely fascinating nature, where diving into its waters is a risk, and at the same time an irresistible call. Beethoven's intent is to try to heal that fracture between the human race and Nature, which has broken the harmony of the origins. The lack of harmony generates disease and death. An extremely current theme. Nothing can go back to how it was originally, but everything must necessarily transform into something different, more evolved both in the relationships between man and nature, and in those between men.
The whole symphony can be seen as a journey in search of a reconciliation between mankind and Nature. Building a choreography on the Ninth is a risk, but it is a risk that cannot be avoided, it is a necessity. Dancing: Pauline Manfredi and Elisa Paini.
Tuesday 19th Velia Archaeological Park the Salerno Danza Festival 2022 program continues with “Per Luogo, Musica e Corpo”, a Versiliadanza production by and with Leonardo Diana. The performative action lives in the context in which it is represented. A dancer dialogues with the music and the environment that surrounds him in the creation of a “site specific” performance conceived in an extemporaneous manner listening to the space, time and forms that cohabit the place itself at that given moment.
The body is placed inside the space as if it were an architectural element in search of its dimension within the existing context, seeking, through form, a harmony with what surrounds it and with the people who live there. A relationship that is built and slowly transformed in the flow of time marked by the music and sounds of the environment itself.
The importance of cohabiting a space while respecting the different parties involved is the subject within which the entire performance tries to move, constructed precisely through the dialogue between the artist, the space and the audience present.
Salerno Danza Festival is an event conceived by CDTM – Circuito Campano della Danza, created with the recognition of MIC (which included Salerno Danza Festival in its three-year program) and the support of Regione Campania, Sistema Med, in partnership with Progetto Danza di Castellabate and the Cilentomania Association.
