Salerno. The EBAT (Bilateral Agricultural Territorial Body) of Salerno, in collaboration with the Prefecture of Salerno, has promoted the campaign “Bicycle Road Safety”, which is part of the actions to prevent and combat labour exploitation in agriculture launched by the “Permanent Provincial Table on the phenomenon of gangmastering”.
The aim is to prevent the involvement in road accidents, sometimes even fatal, of the numerous foreign citizens who, to go to work in the countryside and then return to the centers that host them, travel in the evening and night hours along the provincial, peripheral or poorly lit roads, using bicycles as a means of transport that are almost always without visual lighting devices.
To this end, at the territorial offices of the Authority (Salerno, Battipaglia, Eboli, Roccadaspide, Agropoli and Nocera Inferiore), indicated in the attached poster, "light kits" will be distributed free of charge, which can be installed on the vehicles used by migrants for travel, to protect road safety and public and private safety.
