SANTACHIARA's new single, "la mia testa è un postoccio" (My Head is a Bad Place), is out (SuoniVisioni / Carosello Records).
In the song written by the artist and produced by Golden Years, you can feel both the lightness of his twenties and the reflective and observant nature that distinguish SANTACHIARA's lyrics, rich in immediate images that give a tangible form to the introspective journeys that the artist puts into music.
The sound of the piece marries its light mood in a crossover of genres that draws from Italian singer-songwriters, indie and new generation pop.
Between unanswered questions, predictions, worries and attempts to silence everything, “my head is a bad place” is an invitation to take a tour of your “wild side”, open yourself up to new experiences and live with the defects that make us unique and happy with who we are.
""My head is a crap" talks about me, about the thousand thoughts that pass through my mind and the absurd way I accept myself. It comes from those periods in which you feel confused and stressed, when you look around and see "only stairs and stairs" and no one seems to listen to you... It's there that I stop to appreciate my "inner mess" and I start to live experiences completely, finding in my chaos a uniqueness that I like" says SANTACHIARA.
The song is produced by Golden Years (already producer of Psicologi, Post Nebbia, Memento and Colombre) who collaborates for the first time with SANTACHIARA in a climate of immediate harmony thanks to similar tastes and passions, managing to work on the beat of the song with great passion, enthusiasm and fun.
“La mia testa è un postaccio” enriches the series of singles that, between 2021 and 2022, followed the release of the debut album “Sette pezzi” (re-released in physical version in 2021; “Sette pezzi – frammenti”), published by Carosello Records / SuoniVisioni, which the artist will play live on July 27 as the opening act for Kings Of Convenience at the Villa Ada Festival (Rome).
Luigi Picone, aka SANTACHIARA, was born in Alberobello in 1998 and spent his childhood traveling around Italy with his parents, street artists, and growing up in an environment full of cultural stimuli.
He spent his adolescence in Spoleto, then moved to Naples in the Santa Chiara neighborhood, the heart of the city's historic center. He has been passionate about rap since he was a kid, but it was too small for him and he began to take inspiration from the most diverse music: from Italian singer-songwriters to rock, passing through techno, classical and urban. He studied piano and guitar and began to mix Radiohead with Mozart and Nirvana on Garage Band, drawing from everything he listened to, and it was a game he played with his classmate Andrea (UNTITLED).
They don't have a real recording studio, so they dismantle their living room, building mini-home engineering works in which chairs and tables hold microphones, mixers and PCs. He chooses to call himself Santachiara "because I wrote and recorded my first songs in that small apartment in Via Santachiara 1, in the neighborhood of the same name in Naples". He made his recording debut in June 2020, releasing 3 singles in a month, "quindi", "io e me" and "alba", which have excellent public and critical acclaim. The three songs reveal his attitude of not using musical genres as a distinctive trait, but rather as carpets for the words, melodies and timbre of his voice.
In 2021 his artistic growth continues with the release of the two singles “credimi” and “passi falsi” and with his first participation in MI MANCHI, ANCORA.
2022 starts with a new double set of singles, “felicità artificiali” / “tutto apposto”, some live dates including the opening act for Kings of Convenience and the release of the single “la mia testa è un postaccio”.
