School Movie Cinedù Award, the charge of 3 thousand baby directors and actors. The final at the temples of Paestum on July 12 and 13. New is the spot against food waste.

The magic is ready to open with SCHOOL MOVIE CINEDÙ AWARDS, the most famous award ceremony for short films made by school students, almost an Oscar night for children. The film festival dedicated to schools created by Enza Ruggiero is thus preparing for the grand finale, which this year celebrates a truly special birthday, in the name of EMOTIONS: this is the 2022 temsalera, which blows out 10 candles also with the prestigious recognition of the Patronage of the Senate of the Republic.

Cinema thus arrives in school desks, with young students who transform into directors, actors, screenwriters. The grand finale will take place at the Temples of Paestum on July 12 and 13: two magical evenings, in the shadow of the Temple of Neptune, dedicated to Primary School and Lower Secondary School.

Many super guests will contribute to making the atmosphere magical: among the special guests the actress Nancy Brilli, Pippo Pelo and Luca Abete linked by a deep friendship to School Movie. The rapper Geolier will make everyone sing and lots of fun with the comedian Alessandro Bolide.

There are 3 children involved in the 2022 edition, for a total of 300 schools from 60 municipalities in all the provinces of the Campania region, in addition to the recent new entries from Basilicata and Calabria.

“It all started with enthusiasm and passion. For us, every year is magic. The initial idea was to be able to convey important messages, creating a strong bond with the territory – underlines Enza Ruggiero – The theme of this edition, 'Emotions', wants to summarize these 10 years, the dreams, the desires, the anxiety and the fear of the first take, finding yourself in front of a camera for the first time. And then the joy, the contagious happiness. School Movie Cinedù is all this. Conveying values full of meaning in short films of a few minutes is not easy, but we can do it with the creativity of the children and with the professionalism of Nicola Surace, at my side for the last 8 years. The two days in the splendid city of Capaccio Paestum will be truly unforgettable”.

Student training, but also lots of fun, for the two days that are divided into two distinct moments. In the afternoon, from 16 to 19 pm at the former Tobacconist's, the screenings of the competing short films, about 150. From 19 pm the entertainment for elementary school children will start on July 12, while on the 13th at 19 pm there will be the Dolcevita Contact Tour, dedicated to middle school children. At 21 pm we will move to the Archaeological Park of Paestum, with the Temple of Neptune as a backdrop: “I thank Tiziana D'Angelo, Director of the Park, for the hospitality and support for our event and the municipal administration of Capaccio Paestum led by Mayor Franco Alfieri, who has believed in us for 10 years now. It will be a great party with many friends and artists who will take turns on stage”, continues Enza Ruggiero.

A major new feature of the 2022 edition is the category dedicated to food waste. The winning short will become the official spot for the Colletta Alimentare, on air from October to December: “We need to convey an idea of the future to our kids – explains Roberto Tuorto, Director of Banco Alimentare Campania – Today we must teach them not to waste anything, not time, not friendships, not life. Food waste is not fought only and exclusively by recovering food from large-scale industry or distribution. It is fought above all in our homes. It is necessary to spread a culture against waste, entering schools, educating young people not to waste even a piece of bread, but not even their life. Also learn to dedicate a little time to help the many people who apply to the Banco: we have gone from 153.000 people to 223 in the last year, a symptom of emerging poverty. Together we can change and restore hope”.

The young schoolchildren present at the conference, moderated by journalist and presenter Rosaria Sica, also spoke about the emotions aroused by School Movie.

"Each of us should not be influenced in love. We developed the spot on waste thinking about how young people sometimes waste their lives between parties and drugs", tell the middle school students of Tommaso D'Aquino in Mercato San Severino.

There are also the little ones from Capaccio Paestum, for whom School Movie meant discovering parts of the city unknown to them. There is Vittoria who with her classmates wrote a comic short film: “It was difficult to write the script at the beginning”. The challenge of filming from 9 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon: “On television everything seems simpler – confess the young directors and actors – but behind the scenes it is very complicated”. And then a message against the conflicts of the world contained in many shorts: “Long live Peace, down with war”.

“A compelling project. An extracurricular path that highlights the most beautiful talents of our Campania”, says the Councilor for Culture of the Province of Salerno, Francesco Morra, committed together with the Authority in a strong relaunch of cultural activity post Covid, in a new creative ferment.

Alongside School Movie Cinedù also McDonald's Salerno and Potenza: “It is a worthy initiative because, in addition to promoting the area, it is aimed at schools, at the little ones, who will be our future – highlights Luigi Snichelotto, McDonald's partner – Transmitting values, feelings, sensitivity is the mission of educational agencies, therefore the school and the family first and foremost. It is the ethical vision of the brand and of all of us who believe and commit ourselves to this objective”.

From the Councilor for Public Education of Capaccio Paestum, Maria Rosaria Picariello, comes the proposal to institutionalize the School Movie final at the Temples: “We will work to ensure that this tenth edition is even more fascinating and welcoming, rooted in the territory”.

An exceptional technical jury, composed of Maria Cecchini, Antonella Cioli, Simone Ciampi, ACDproduczioni Srl Lorenzo Cammisa and Giuseppe De Rosa, Angela Bertamino, Gina Amarante, Anna Nisivoccia, Gregoria Fiscina, decreed the winning shorts.
