A worker, Salvatore Ruggeri, aged 59, died yesterday in Taormina, in the province of Messina, probably due to anaphylactic shock after being attacked by a swarm of bees and hornets while he was going to work. The man would have opened a cottage, finding the insects inside, which would have surprised him and attacked, concentrating especially on the face and head.

The man, as reported today by the Southern Gazette, was transported to hospital but he died soon after his arrival. To ascertain with certainty the cause of death it has been decided that an autopsy will be performed on Polyclinic of Messina.
