A shoe and the remains of a garment, perhaps a pair of trousers, could belong to Mimì Manzo, the 69-year-old from Parata Principato Ultra, in the province of Avellino, who disappeared into thin air on the evening of January 8, 2021. They were found by the Carabinieri along the tracks invaded by brushwood of the disused Avellino-Rocchetta Sant'Antonio railway line, near the former station of the Irpinia municipality where Manzo lived.

The search for the man, reactivated a few weeks ago by the Avellino Prosecutor's Office following the incessant and pressing requests of his sisters, involves about thirty men including forest rangers and firefighters and is concentrated not only in the area of ​​the railway line, where Manzo was filmed by the cameras of a restaurant on the evening of his disappearance, but also in the embankment that runs alongside the Sabato river, below the Basilica dell'Annunziata, the mother church of the small Irpinia town. Both areas have been placed under sequestration and it is not excluded that excavations may be carried out.

The clothes found will be analyzed to determine whether they belong to the man for whose disappearance Romina's daughter Romina is being investigated for kidnapping, her inseparable friend and her ex-boyfriend, Loredana Scannelli and Alfonso Russo, respectively for complicity in kidnapping and aiding and abetting and false statements. Mimi' Manzo left her home after having an argument with her daughter Romina who was celebrating her birthday that evening, which arose from the girl's acquaintances.

In the previous days, on several occasions, Manzo had withdrawn a sum of more than three thousand euros from the ATM. The investigators also arranged for checks to be carried out on his cell phone which, according to a sister living in Carpi (Modena), the day after his disappearance, January 9, was reported to be on, even though no one answered.

On another front, that of voluntary separation, the psychological stress of Manzo is assessed, accused in the trial for mistreatment in the family towards his wife who, for this reason, had abandoned the family home.
