Horse-drawn carriages banned in Sorrento under the blazing sun. This is established by an ordinance of the mayor that provides for the prohibition of carriages circulation, in the municipal territory of Sorrento, during the hottest hours of the day.
The measure will be in force until September 15th, from 12.30 to 15.30, and requires that, between one tourist tour and the next, a rest stop of at least 15 minutes be made.

Specifically, it is taken into account that the horse, “due to its physical and physiological characteristics, it is an animal particularly sensitive to high temperatures: therefore, due to the exceptional and frequent heat waves, there is a need for urgent safeguard measures in order to protect its health”.
And so after the ordinance for decorum that prohibits walking in bathing suits and bare-chested in the streets of the city, comes the provision to protect the health of horses.
