Palazzo Reale Summerfest, Mara Venier: I said no to Strehler and yes to Mario Merola

Great success for yesterday evening, Wednesday 6 July, organized as part of Palazzo Reale SummerFest, which saw Mara Venier interviewed by Pino Strabioli.

An event during which the lady of Italian Sundays told her story, retracing many moments of her personal life and career, such as her refusal of the leading role offered to her by Giorgio Strehler or the opening of her vintage clothing shop in Rome, thanks to her friend Gabriella Ferri.

She had a close bond with Naples, which she met with Mario Merola; from that moment on, her relationship with the city and its symbolic figures began to consolidate: she was in Naples on the occasion of the victory of the Scudetto with Maradona; she was close to Luciano De Crescenzo and Renzo Arbore, with whom she began a long relationship; she frequented and appreciated Roberto Murolo; she loved Neapolitan melodies, such as “Reginella”, which she sang together with her mother.

There was no shortage of surprises during the meeting: Franco Ricciardi and Andrea Sannino went on stage and dedicated some songs to her, including the recent “Te voglio troppo bene”. “Mara is Neapolitan – the two singers declared – we really love her too much”. In closing, she was awarded as Queen of Television with a statuette portraying her, created by the Nativity Masters Giuseppe and Marco Ferrigno.

Among the guests in the audience, in addition to the Director of Palazzo Reale Mario Epifani and Rossella Erra, ambassador of the people at Dancing with the Stars.

This evening the French musician Jimmy Sax will offer the audience of Palazzo Reale SummerFest an unreleased repertoire, accompanied by The Symphonic Dance Orchestra. On Friday, the Fede 'n' Marlen Band will perform live: the duo composed of Federica Ottombrino and Marilena Vitale, and on Saturday, July 9, the BNKR44 will perform live: the group will give life to a performance that will not be limited to just musical performance, but will also touch on other artistic languages ​​such as painting and theater.

Palazzo Reale SummerFest is organized by Best Live Srl, Emmeemme and Eles Di Ester Gatta, with the collaboration of BIM – Bar in movimento and Fresco and the contribution of Azimut and Gutteridge.
