Terracina, Mayor and members of the council arrested: 50 investigated. The charge is corruption.
The mayor of Terracina Roberta Tintari, was arrested this morning. The charge brought against her is that of corruption. Reached by precautionary measures, among others, also the councilor for public works, the president of the city council and the former vice mayor Pierpaolo Marcuzzi.
Five people have been placed under house arrest and seven others have been banned from holding public office following a large-scale operation by the Carabinieri coordinated by the Latina prosecutor's office. Among the alleged crimes is corruption.
The investigation concerns beach concessions and then in general the maritime state property sector. According to initial information, other councilors and municipal managers would also be involved.
Fifty people are under investigation in total. The mayor of Terracina, Roberta Tintari, is accused of disrupting the freedom of auctions and forgery. She was arrested today as part of an operation by the Carabinieri of Latina and the Port Authority.
The mayor, in particular, is accused of an episode of disturbed freedom of auctions in relation to the management of the municipal beach. Together with her, for facts dating back to 2019, the then deputy mayor Pierpaolo Marcuzzi, already arrested last January, is also involved.
The president of the city council and two other councilors were also arrested. In general, the investigation concerns the maritime state property sector.
