TRAMONTI. Caught dumping waste in the valley, he attacks the commander of the Local Police and sends him to the hospital. It happened yesterday morning in TRAMONTI, a charming little town on the Amalfi coast, where DUV, a resident of about sixty years of age, around 8am was throwing some bags containing various types of waste from the edge of the Provincial Road 2, at the height of the hamlet of Novella, towards the valley below.
At that very moment, the head of the Local Police, Moreno Salsano, who was supposed to start work at the Municipality of Tramonti, was passing by on his scooter. The commander ordered the man to stop, but DUV, already known to the police, in the presence of his wife, attacked the commander with slaps, kicks and punches, and then disappeared on board his car.
Moreno requested the intervention of the officers on duty to be taken to the emergency room in Castiglione di Ravello and have his medical report taken. Outside the facility, while waiting for the swab results before accessing, the sixty-year-old also arrived and attacked Salsano again, who was then stopped by a Local Police officer and those present. The commander of the White Helmets was given a seven-day prognosis for the beatings.
For the attacker, the prosecutor on duty ordered the arrest. The Carabinieri of the Amalfi Company were also alerted, and DUV began searching for him at his home, at his workplace, and in the places he usually frequents, but there was no trace of him. The arrest in flagrante, which was supposed to take place by midday, was not possible, but the victim filed a complaint.
