A busy dawn for the Carabinieri of the Forio station on the island of Ischia who, at around 6, intervened following a woman's request for help.
Her partner, a 45-year-old local man already known to the police, had become violent and dangerous due to his state of drunkenness. The police acted immediately and found the man in Serrara Fontana.
The 45-year-old is clearly agitated, staggers and falls to the ground several times because he cannot maintain his balance, but this does not stop him from screaming amidst the silence of the houses and threatening to set fire to the parked car. He had already damaged a scooter by throwing it on the ground and some flower boxes that were on the street.
The Carabinieri confront him and try to calm him down but he lashes out at the soldiers who with no small difficulty manage to arrest him. The 45-year-old will answer for resisting, threatening, insulting and injuring a public official and is now awaiting trial in the hospital where he is under surveillance. The Carabinieri have given him a couple of days of prognosis for the injuries he suffered.
