Killed by a hit-and-run driver on the Nola-Villa Literno road in front of his children: the driver is currently arrested in Poggioreale prison.
Arrest order against MV following an investigation into a road accident that occurred on the afternoon of July 10, on the stretch of road SS7bis called Terra di lavoro, which connects the city of Noia to that of Villa Literno.
The MV after hitting the 45 year old PDA, originally from Sant'Antimo (NA), who got out of his vehicle due to a mechanical failure, fled hastily without providing assistance to the victim. The tragic event occurred before the incredulous eyes of his family members who could only glimpse a vehicle, black in color, run over the poor relative who, due to the strong impact, was thrown about 50 meters from the scene of the road accident.
The investigations started promptly following the road accident were carried out by investigators from the Caserta Highway Police section, who carried out a complex and laborious reconstruction of the facts, through the collection of information and the extraction of footage from cameras installed near the site of the event and from the databases of the systems in use.
Traffic Police officers were able, first of all, to find the driver's Renault Twingo, badly damaged and abandoned on the outskirts of the city of Cardito (NA) and, subsequently, to trace both the owner of the car and the series of sub-rentals that had allowed MV to take possession of the vehicle.
At first MV denied his responsibility for the incident, blaming the investment on a friend of his whose telephone number he also provided, which later turned out to be inactive, but faced with numerous pieces of evidence against him, he admitted his responsibility, declaring himself sorry for what had happened.
After the usual photo-identifying tests, the arrested person was taken to the Naples Poggioreale prison, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
