Last appointment of the Charlot Award at the Cinema Teatro Delle Arti in Salerno to conclude the mini film festival.

The last appointment is tomorrow (Thursday 14 July) at 20 pm and again on Friday 15 July, again at 20 pm, at the Cinema Teatro Delle Arti, with the mini film festival, created in collaboration with the Cineteca di Bologna, dedicated to the poet, writer, actor, screenwriter, playwright and director Pier Paolo Pasolini on the centenary of his birth and included in the programme of the XXXIV edition of the Charlot Award.

Last cinema event that will see the screening of the 1971 film “Decameron” written and directed by Pasolini, based on the homonymous work by Giovanni Boccaccio, which since 2000 has been banned for minors under 14 years of age. It is the first episode of the so-called “Trilogy of Life”.

The film had several problems with the censors who seized and unseized the film and also opened a trial, which eventually saw Pasolini and the other defendants found not guilty. The film grossed 4 and a half billion lire, ranking second behind “…They Still Call Me Trinity” among the best box office hits of the 1971/72 season.

To date, it holds the 16th position of the most viewed Italian films of all time. In Germany and in much of Europe, the film was a great success and won the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. In a cast of non-professional actors, Pasolini's two fetish actors are not missing: Franco Citti (Ser Ciappelletto) and Ninetto Davoli (Andreuccio da Perugia). Pasolini instead chose to play the painter, a pupil of Giotto, after receiving the refusal of two writer friends to whom he had offered the role.

SEA SUN SEA FESTIVAL AND THE GUIDONIA TWINS
The curtain on the Arena del Mare which will host the third and final part of the XXXIV edition of the Charlot Award will rise on Saturday 16 July at 20,30 pm with the XX edition of the Sea Sud Festa del Mare followed by the show “Trex2 tra Radio e tv” by the Gemelli di Guidonia, namely the Pacifico brothers, Gino and Eduardo Acciarino, of Neapolitan origin who have lived in Rome for over ten years and tour Italy with lively and engaging shows.

CHARLOT LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD TO BRUNO VENTURINI
And as the curtain is about to fall on the first part of the XXXIV edition of the Charlot Award, the patron and artistic director Claudio Tortora announces who will be awarded the Charlot Lifetime Achievement Award on the evening of July 21st at the Arena del Mare at 21,30:2005 p.m. The award will go to Maestro Bruno Venturini, a singer of Pagan origins who has held concerts all over the world. His best-known recording is “Antologia della canzone napoletana”. Among the awards he has received, we recall: in 1995 he was named Knight of the Order of Malta; in 1972 the President of the Republic Scalfaro named him Grand Officer of the Italian Republic for international artistic merit; Before that, in XNUMX he was named the Nobel class academic title by the Academy of Letters, Sciences and Arts in Milan.
After the award ceremony by Maestro Bruno Venturini, the concert by Tv Project, “The great theme songs of television” with Sandro Deidda will be held.

COMIC PERCEPTIONS
Still within the Charlot Giovani, another important event is the one with the workshops “Comic Perceptions” that will be held at the Teatro Delle Arti and that will be curated by Alessio Tagliento, author among other things of TV programs such as Zelig. The appointments, all free, will be for Tuesday 19 July from 17 pm to 20 pm, Wednesday 20 July from 10 am to 13 pm and Thursday 21 July from 17 pm to 20 pm.

CHARLOTTE YOUNG
There will be seven young comedians, selected from all over Italy by Gianluca Tortora and Alessio Tagliento who will take to the stage on the evening of July 20 (21.30:XNUMX p.m.), at the Arena del Mare, ready to challenge each other with laughter to conquer the “Charlot Giovani”. As always, the winner will be chosen by the audience, while the technical jury will award the critics' prize. Accompanied by Villa per Bene who will host the evening, the following will take to the stage: I doppiosenso (duo composed of Nunzio Amato Cicciano from Naples and Antonio Juliano from San Giuseppe Vesuviano), Emanuele Campasano from Pomigliano d'Arco, Chiara Anicito from Paternò (Catania), Massimiliano Samaritani called Max from Bareggio (Milan), Luisanna Vespa from Rome, the duo composed of Simone Gallo from Cecina (Li) and Andrea D'Andreagiovanni from Pescara, and Nikolas Albanese from Rho. Guest of the evening Luca Virago.

CHARLOT BOOKS AND THEATRE PRIZE
The Charlot Libri Award will be presented to the philologist, writer and academic Federico Sanguineti, for the volume “Temi svolti di storia letteraria, ad uso di docenti e discenti”. The award ceremony will take place on July 27, at 21,30 pm, at the Arena del Mare. Following on the Charlot stage will be Dario Vergassola and Moni Ovadia (Charlot Teatro Award for Lifetime Achievement), who will offer the audience the show “A Jew, a Ligurian and Judaism”.

All Charlot Award evenings are free to enter until all seats are taken.
