The Ministry of the Interior has made additional resources available to finance projects for the construction of integrated video surveillance systems by local governments in the regions of Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia and Sicily.
The call for proposals, which can be attended by municipalities with a resident population of more than 20 thousand inhabitants, as well as municipalities with a lower number of inhabitants that have been dissolved due to mafia infiltration, was prepared following consultation with the Regions and ANCI. The resources amount to 30 million euros.
The municipalities that meet the requirements to participate in the call are 219 in total, of which 66 are in Campania (including Naples, Avellino, Benevento and Caserta), 65 in Sicily, 48 in Puglia, 37 in Calabria, 3 in Basilicata. The Prefectures will be responsible for sending the information and documentation necessary for participation in the call to the interested municipalities. Applications must be submitted by October 20. Below is the list of Campania municipalities that have received the funds.
