Campania weather alert still in effect. The Civil Protection of the Campania Region has a Yellow hydrogeological criticality warning, valid from 14:21 pm to XNUMX:XNUMX pm today.
The alert will concern central-northern Campania and in particular the following areas: 1,2,3,4 (Campania Plain, Naples, Islands, Vesuvian Area; Upper Volturno and Matese; Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, Sarno Mountains and Picentini Mountains; Upper Irpinia and Sannio).
Storms may be sudden, strong and localised: the phenomena are in fact characterised by rapid evolution, forecast uncertainty and being temporary but intense.
For this reason they could cause hail, lightning, damage to roofs, falling branches or trees and be accompanied by gusts of wind. A consequent hydrogeological risk is also expected due to storms: flooding, runoff, rising water levels of watercourses, water flow on roadways, falling rocks and occasional landslides linked to particularly fragile conditions of the territory are possible.
The Civil Protection of the Campania Region recommends that the competent bodies implement all measures aimed at preventing and combating the foreseen phenomena regarding the hydrogeological risk due to storms, in line with the respective municipal plans.
It is also recommended to check the correct maintenance of public greenery and structures exposed to the stress of winds and other possible atmospheric phenomena (hail) as well as to pay attention to subsequent warnings from the Civil Protection.
