Our vineyards that wind along steep slopes on terraces of dry stone walls, where agricultural work is arduous and painful, give life to what is rightly defined as heroic viticulture", said the mayor of Vietri sul Mare, Giovanni De Simone.
Alfonso Giannella, member of the national board of directors “The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy”: “It is a special event for Vietri sul Mare and the food and wine pairing gives further impetus to our already excellent tourist season: in addition to tourism linked to the sea we will also have food and wine tourism, I thank those who believed in Vietri as a place to best carry out this initiative.
There will be an opportunity in the coming years to continue the event and, in addition, within the scope of this project linked to wine, I have managed to include our town in the European wine tourism itineraries Iter Vitis, a route created by the European Union for wine companies that will be able to use signs to put up throughout the territory. I will get going immediately at the end of this event: so whoever comes to Vietri will also know that there are wine itineraries to do”.
Thus Fiorello Primi, president of the Association I Borghi più belli d'Italia “BorgoDiVino is one of the most important national events that the association, thanks to the organizational contribution of Valica, promotes, to relaunch food and wine tourism, an important sector for the post-covid recovery.
Agricultural production, especially wine, represents a fundamental element for the protection of the landscape and the environment". A voice echoed by Luca Cotichini, marketing manager of Valica: “BorgoDiVino is a national traveling event capable of blending tourism with the food and wine experience, of bringing together passionate producers in fabulous and unique contexts, such as the most beautiful villages in Italy. The goal of the tour is to promote tourism and food and wine”.
