The longest-running event in the province will return at the beginning of September Caserta, now in its fiftieth year: "Settembre al Borgo," scheduled for September 1st to 4th in the medieval village of Casertavecchia. The announcement was made by Caserta city councilors Emiliano Casale (Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Events) and Enzo Battarra (Culture).
"September at the Borgo 2022," says Casale, "will be a special edition born from the path initiated in recent years by maestro Enzo Avitabile, artistic director of the event for the fifth consecutive year.

The event turns fifty and, for the occasion, will bring together instruments, sounds, and cultures from around the world in the village of Casertavecchia. There will be four important evenings, four premieres—Casale adds—in which the Campanian musical tradition will be fused with the international experiences of the prestigious guests. The event will return to its roots with the Piazza Vescovado venue, and the eagerly awaited reading and journalism event "Un Borgo di Libri" will also take place in the courtyards of the medieval village.
Culture Councilor Enzo Battarra explains that "Maestro Avitabile wanted to prioritize the world of musical and theatrical research rather than offering audiences hit-parade names. This program focuses on previews and locally-born productions, with high-profile international guests. This is the spirit of the festival."
