A fire destroyed the restaurant late yesterday evening The Castle Cellar in the Castello area of Gragnano: eight people injured and transported to the hospital in Castellammare for the burns they suffered.

There was a general stampede. Panic and chaos: one of the customers saved a woman, who was also in the restaurant with her family and who, being in a wheelchair, had not been able to save herself.
Eight people were burned: seven slightly – taken to the San Leonardo hospital in Castellammare di Stabia and released shortly after – while the eighth injured – a 24-year-old from Calvizzano – was taken to the Cardarelli hospital in Naples. Some surrounding homes were also grazed by the fire.
They arrived on site Police and at least four fire trucks that put out the fire after a few hours but the restaurant was completely destroyed.
An investigation has been opened to determine the causes: the flames started in the kitchen where many people heard an explosion.
