Two-year-old boy dies in Belluno, drugs found in parents' home. Toxicology test pending.
The toxicological test that will be carried out on the little body of Nicolò Feltrin, the child from Codissago in the municipality of Longarone who died last Thursday at the age of 2 from intoxication, will establish whether the substance he ingested can be traced back to the hashish found in his parents' apartment.
The little boy's father, Diego, 39, a woodcutter, has been entered in the register of suspects by the Belluno Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of manslaughter, having been the only person present in the house when Nicolò felt ill.
The man, who had said he was “incredulous” after receiving the notice of investigation, had reported to the hospital in Pieve di Cadore that his son had ingested something brown in Sydney Park in the hamlet of Codissago near his home. The doctors, however, had proceeded by administering a drug against overdoses.
At the end of the autopsy, pathologist Antonello Cirnelli reported that the child's heart had 'simply' stopped, or cardiac arrest.
Now the toxicological test will establish whether the ingested substance and the biological fluids found in Nicolò's body can be traced back to the drugs found and seized by the Carabinieri during a search of the family home.
