Naples, 3-year-old boy dies after scooter accident with father: investigation opened by the Prosecutor's Office for road homicide.
The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the death of a 3 and a half year old child following a road accident that occurred last Friday, around 15 pm, in the Vasto neighborhood.
The child was riding a scooter driven by his father when the vehicle collided with a car driven by a woman at the intersection of Via Pavia and Via Parma. In the violent collision the child, who was sitting on the seat in front of his father, was thrown a few meters away and suffered serious head injuries.
Transported to the Santobono pediatric hospital, he died yesterday. The agents of the Naples Municipal Police, San Lorenzo section, intervened at the scene of the accident, who carried out the relevant surveys and provided an initial reconstruction of the event.
The Prosecutor's Office has opened a case for road homicide, the investigations will aim to identify those responsible for the death of the child who, due to his young age, could not have been transported on a motorcycle as established by the Highway Code. The results of the toxicological tests carried out on the people involved in the accident are also awaited.
