Napkli. Child dies in car accident, father and woman reported.
The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office has opened a case on the accident that occurred last Friday near Naples Central Station, which cost the life of a child of only 3 and a half years old who was traveling on a scooter driven by his father. Investigators are considering the crime of road homicide.
The Municipal Police filed a complaint with the judicial authorities against the parent of the little victim and against a woman who was driving a car involved in the collision.
According to the reconstruction of the incident, the little boy, who was sitting in front of his father, fell heavily to the ground after the collision between the scooter and the car, suffering serious injuries to his head.
Brain death was declared after a few days. The task will soon be assigned to the prosecutor's office who will then perform the autopsy.
The child, who was wearing a helmet, was reportedly thrown several meters away. Investigators are also awaiting the results of toxicology tests performed on both the man and the woman.
Furthermore, according to the investigations, the child should not have been on board the scooter: the minimum age established by the regulations is five years.
