Naples. Yesterday evening, officers from the Campania Crime Prevention Department, during their territorial control service, while passing through Corso San Giovanni, ordered a scooter with two people on board without protective helmets to stop, but the driver, at the sight of them, threw something over the fence of a public park and continued on his way to elude the control.
The police chased them until, having reached via Ammiraglio Aubry, after having impacted with a parked car, the passenger got off the motorcycle to continue his escape on foot and disappeared without a trace, while the driver, not without difficulty and after a fight, was stopped and found in possession of a pair of disposable gloves.
In addition, the agents, thanks to the support of personnel from the San Giovanni-Barra Police Station and a drug-sniffing canine unit from the Guardia di Finanza, inspected the park and found a Smith & Wesson cal.38 revolver complete with 5 cartridges, thrown shortly before by the driver.
EA, a 20-year-old from Naples, was arrested for illegal possession of weapons, receiving stolen goods and resisting a public official; finally, the scooter was seized.
