Napoli. From today, August 31st, Major Cosimo Vizzino takes over the command of the Information Unit of the Provincial Carabinieri of Napoli. The Officer, born in Lecce in 83, replaces Lt. Col. Giangabriele Affinito who, after 5 years of experience in Naples - during which he achieved multiple results in the fight against organized crime with several revelations of money laundering operations - has assumed command at the battalion of the Marescialli school in Florence.
Enlisted in the Carabinieri in 2004 and employed for a short period at the Carabinieri mobile battalion in Mestre, Major Vizzino attended the 186th course at the Military Academy in Modena and the Carabinieri Officers' School in Rome.
Married and father of two girls aged 9 and 2, the Officer commanded the Operational Intervention Company of Milan, the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of Agrigento and the Carabinieri Companies of Randazzo (CT) and Sesto San Giovanni.
The command of the Investigative Nucleus of Trento is his last experience before arriving in Naples where he will deal with organized crime, subversion and terrorism.
