San Gennaro Vesuviano and Somma Vesuviana. He beats a 71-year-old and takes his car. While fleeing he hits a cyclist. Carabinieri arrest the person responsible
The Carabinieri of the Nola company together with the military of the Somma Vesuviana station have placed under arrest the suspect of the crime Salvatore Abruzzese 45 year old San Gennaro Vesuvius already known to the police. The man is considered seriously suspected of the crimes of aggravated robbery and personal injury. A long and complicated operation for the Carabinieri with an event that begins shortly before 8 in the morning.
It is in fact 7.45 in San Gennaro Vesuviano when via Naples a man approaches a Ford Fiesta parked with a 71-year-old woman inside. He beats her and takes possession of the vehicle.
The victim's request for help to 112 was immediate, as was the search for the man.
The car carrying the 45-year-old has GPS and is first located at Caivano and then to Somma Vesuviana. Right there the escape by car ends but not before hitting a 44 year old cyclist on Reviglione Street to whom – it goes without saying – no assistance is provided.
The criminal notices the black box and removes it before abandoning the car but by now the police, thanks to the constant "monitoring" of the operations centre, are on his trail and at 12.30 they stop the 45 year old in via Pigno near the Circumvesuviana stop.
The two victims were transported and examined at theNola hospital, for them only minor injuries deemed curable in a few days. The arrested person was transferred to the prison of Poggioreale at the disposal of the judicial authorities of Nola.
The Carabinieri of Nola have ascertained that the arrested person was found to be a recipient of the CBI and will be reported to INPS for the appropriate measures
