“It is clear, once again, that Salvati no longer has the majority to govern Scafati.” comments the Democratic Party secretary Giuseppe Fontanella on the sidelines of the last city council.
“Last night, however, the mayor was pardoned by the choices, direct or indirect, of some opposition councilors, which were decisive – in fact – for the election of the President of the Board of Auditors and for the approval of the resolutions preparatory to the discussion on the budget.
We consider this a mistake. – continues Fontanella – The city needs clarity. If Salvati has the numbers, he will govern; otherwise, he should go home.
Keeping alive an administration without any useful prospects for the city - and which survives only thanks to transformist operations or occasional support - is a clamorous mistake. Because those who hold an entire community hostage must be removed, not helped.
A wrong choice especially towards the citizens of Scafati: feeding the blackmail of Salvati and Santocchio means depriving Scafati of opportunities for growth and development.
This is why those who support this fake majority are enemies of Scafati and the people of Scafati.”, thunders Fontanella.
Now we will vote on the budget forecast. As is known, thirteen votes are needed for approval. We want to be clear about this: everyone chooses which side they are on, for today but especially for tomorrow.
Whoever is in favor of the budget decides to side against the city and whoever is against the city will never be our ally.
The note from the Democratic Party secretary is followed by the declarations of Michele Russo – leader of Insieme per Scafati – together with those of his colleagues Michelangelo Ambrunzo and
Michael Grimaldi.
“Yesterday's city council has confirmed for the umpteenth time that this administration is supported by a minority and does not have the numbers to approve the measures that
brings to the council. We proposed amendments on the resolution for the auditors' compensation, on the parking plan, amendments that were approved and demonstrate our constructive spirit. Absolutely lacking in institutional grace was the majority's failure to grant a break requested by us to try to find an agreement on the president of the auditors, at that point we had no choice but to leave the room.
On the Palamangano we are trying in every way to unblock the situation that is known, not from now, and that Salvati is instrumentally linking to the budget. On the compensatory works financed by Terna for the Marra electrical station we are still waiting to see a document, for over two years, that demonstrates what this administration has planned for those works.
To date, nothing. Let it be clear that for us we reiterate that in Marra 500.000 euros of works must be carried out, and for this very reason we had proposed an amendment to use only 120.000 euros for the PalaMangano, committing the administration to restore the sum with budget funds.
Just as we think that for example the sums of the monetization of the La Regina parking lot for about 700.000 should be spent in the area and not used to perhaps fill budget holes created by this administration.
In any case, we realize that now the umpteenth hunt for the budget vote will begin with Salvati in constant political negotiation and bargaining. We are ready to distrust him in all ways and in all places. Let's be clear.
