The “Concetta Barra Award” returns for the ninth consecutive year on September 2 and 3 in Procida on the centenary of the birth of the great artist.
The two-day event was born from the desire of the University of Naples Federico II to honor and remember the singer and actress from Procida, ambassador of a popular tradition that she was able to revisit and interpret in a unique and unrepeatable way, retracing her human and artistic relationship with the culture of the island that gave her birth.
The Award is established by the Master's Degree in "Dramaturgy and Cinematography" of the University of Federico II, coordinated by Pasquale Sabbatino, organized by the PartenArt Association, with the scientific commission coordinated by Massimo Marrelli, former rector of the University Federico II, and with the patronage of the Municipality of Procida.
«The award was born from the dream of many friends of remembering a beautiful Procidan woman through the value of an island with all its traditions and all its cultural beauty. Concetta Barra's is not a prize focused only on art, but also on light, love for young people and great cultural values», declares Peppe Barra, artistic director of the Prize, worthy and aware heir of culture and tradition of the mother Concetta Barra and professor of the master's degree in "Dramaturgy and Cinematography" of Federico II.
