A man died while rafting between Scopa and Balmuccia, in Valsesia, a stretch of water popular with rafting enthusiasts.
According to initial information, the victim was descending from the Sesia River in a dinghy. Rescue teams and the Carabinieri intervened on the scene and are reconstructing the incident. The cause of death is currently unknown. The accident occurred in the Scopa area, in the province of Vercelli, and, at the moment, information on the incident is still fragmentary.
On site there are rescuers and 118 personnel who, however, could not do anything for the unfortunate man. It will be the police who will reconstruct precisely the dynamics of the event.
