Towards the autumn blow, +711 euros per family. Codacons reports a bitter return from vacation.
The return from vacation will be particularly bitter this year, due to the price and tariff increases that are about to hit Italians and that will determine a real "autumn blow" on average equal to +711 euros per year per family between September and November. This is what Codacons reports, calculating the expenses that Italians will have to face. The first expense will be food with average price increases of 10% on an annual basis. A family of 4 people will thus find themselves spending 172 euros this year for the first post-vacation food supplies, with an increase of about 16 euros compared to 2021.
Without immediate action to cushion the impact of the increases in energy and gas, small businesses in the tourism and tertiary sectors will find themselves paying a huge bill of 12 billion euros over the next 11 months, about eight billion more than in the previous 12 months. An unsustainable blow, which risks putting 90 thousand businesses out of business.
The alarm was raised by Confesercenti which, on the basis of current electricity and gas rates, calculated the increase in costs that companies with fewer than 20 employees operating in tourism and other tertiary sectors, from commerce to services, will have to bear.
The ones paying the highest bill will be the companies in the restaurant sector, which will have to spend - with the same consumption - almost 2 billion euros more (+1.944 million), while for bars and other activities without kitchens the burden would be just over one billion euros (+1.045 millions).
