Confirmed cases rise to 740 monkeypox in Italy, 26 more than the last survey on Tuesday, August 23, according to the bulletin published by the Ministry of Health with data updated to today. In the national caseload, women remain stable at 10, compared to 730 men. The infections linked to travel abroad are 201 and the average age of patients is 37 years (with a range from 14 to 71 years).
The region with the highest number of confirmed cases remains Lombardy with 318, which also recorded the largest increase (+10), followed by Lazio with 136 cases (+8), Emilia Romagna with 75 cases (+2), Veneto with 49 cases (+1), Tuscany with 38 cases (+2), Campania with 32 (+1), Piedmont with 26, Puglia with 17 cases (+1), Liguria stuck at 16, and Friuli Venezia Giulia with 11 cases.
5 regions (Basilicata, Calabria, Molise, Umbria and Valle d'Aosta) have not yet reported any Monkeypox virus infections.
