Benevento, sexual abuse of a student: teacher already suspended and under house arrest.
The teacher from the province of Benevento for whom the Benevento Public Prosecutor's Office requested and obtained house arrest from the investigating judge because she was accused of aggravated sexual violence, has already been suspended following a report from the school principal.

"The arrest of the teacher from the Benevento area accused of sexual assault against a 12-year-old student forcefully brings to the fore the issue of psychological aptitude evaluation of teachers. Given that the vast majority of school staff are absolutely reliable and honest, we must focus on tools that could help prevent very serious incidents and consolidate the trust and serenity of families."
Rossano Sasso, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, stated this in a note.
"The current evaluation system is too unbalanced towards notionalism, also due to the overall architecture of the competitive procedures - continues Sasso - Instead, we need to develop a program that, especially for temporary teachers who have been working in the school system for years, truly assesses their skills, as well as their ability to communicate them, and does not neglect their aptitude for carrying out such a complex and delicate profession. A thorough examination of the motivational and behavioral aspects of aspiring teachers would also be extremely helpful in immediately identifying any issues, thus preventing them from later manifesting in their full severity when working with students.
