Campania Weather Alert: Due to worsening weather conditions, the Campania Region Civil Protection Department has extended the orange-level criticality warning, currently in effect until 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, for the entire day tomorrow, Monday, September 26, throughout the entire region.
The severe thunderstorms will continue at least until 23.59:XNUMX PM tomorrow. The Civil Protection is monitoring the evolution of the situation and the impact that the precipitations are having on the territory: dozens of interventions are underway by technicians and volunteers.
The most critical situations are currently recorded in the Caserta area: the Prefecture of Caserta has already activated the Rescue Coordination Center, in which the Civil Engineering Department and the Regional Operations Room are participating.
In particular, flooding has been reported so far in Caserta, Carinaro, Capua, Pignataro, the Domizio coast, Grazzanise, Casal di Principe, Cesa and Curti. Critical situations also in the Nola area: a landslide in Roccarainola, flooding in several municipalities and, in particular, in Tufino where the regional Civil Protection, in conjunction with the Prefecture of Naples, is sending teams of volunteers. The disturbance that is currently affecting the central-northern sectors of the region with rainfall values varying from 80 mm (Caserta province and Naples city) to 60 mm (Caserta city and province of Naples) in the last 3 hours, in the next few hours will mainly affect zone 3: Sorrento-Amalfi Coast, Monti di Sarno and Monti Picentini.
