Nkosinathi Innocent Sizwe Maphumolo, real name Black Coffee, is one of the most popular DJs and producers of recent years. Having left his native South Africa in the early 2000s—where he endured traumatic experiences such as losing the use of his left arm in an accident during celebrations for Nelson Mandela's release in 1990—his determination has enabled him to enter the elite of international club culture.
The music that inspires him is that of Africa, in all its vast and complex history, which finds its roots in the rhythm and incursions of jazz, soul and R&B learned at the Durban University of Technology. His debut took place in 2005, when he reinterpreted the song “Stimela” by Hugh Massekela, followed by several albums and the creation of his label, Soulistic Music.
Percussion becomes his stylistic signature, which flows into an urban techno that meets deep house with strong traditional influences, nicknamed Afropolitan house by some.

In just a few years, Black Coffee has become one of the world's top dance artists, a true star, adding residencies in hotspots like Ibiza, Mykonos, and Las Vegas. With a packed calendar of events—around 150 shows a year—that will also include the city of Naples.
