Aversa. CTP bus driver attacked by a motorist with a gyrocopter. The union denounces: “Do something before someone dies”.

On the Teverola/Aversa/Naples route, the driver of the ex M13 line of the CTP was attacked by a motorist who had cut him off. Marco Sansone of the USB Regional Coordination for Private Work reported the incident.

The bus was heading towards Aversa when, suddenly, a private car cut in front of it, forcing it to brake sharply to avoid the impact.

The driver, after having avoided the worst, flashed the hit-and-run car's lights to signal the risk of impact caused.

At that point, evidently annoyed by the warning, the driver of the car stopped, got out of the car and approached the bus threateningly.

The operator, who had already received a similar attack in the past, closed the driver's side window to protect himself.

Upon seeing this gesture, the driver of the car thought it best to go back to his car, take a blunt object, very similar to a windshield wiper, go near the driver's side window of the bus, now closed, and hit it, causing it to shatter and injuring the driver of the bus, fortunately only slightly, who suffered problems with one eye hit by a few small shards of glass, and then flee.

The bus driver still managed to record the license plate number of the car driven by the attacker, after which, although very tired, he called the ambulance and had a medical report, reserving the right to file a formal complaint with the competent authorities.

“We are really tired of continuing to report attacks on front-line staff in the public service – says Marco Sansone of the USB Regional Coordination for Private Work – without this phenomenon regressing. We believe that it is necessary to implement territorial controls and controls by the institutions, but companies must also do their part before someone dies.”
