A 36-year-old waiter from Sapri, Diego Mandola, died yesterday in France.
As a result of serious injuries sustained in a fall from the terrace of his home in Thonon-les-Bain on Lake Geneva.
Diego Mandola worked as a waiter at a restaurant. The 36-year-old's body is at the disposal of the French authorities who are investigating the causes and have ordered an autopsy.
The tragedy has caused emotion in Sapri where Diego Mandola was very well known. In recent days he had spent a few days of vacation in his hometown before leaving for France.
Before moving across the Alps he had worked in northern Italy. A lover of neomelodic music, he was a huge fan of Napoli and never missed an opportunity to proudly claim his origins as a boy from the South.
