The National Pilgrimage of the statue of the Virgin of the Miraculous Medal returns to Campania.
The pilgrimage began on November 11, 2020, in the Vatican, with the blessing of Pope Francesco in commemoration of the 190th anniversary of the apparitions to Saint Catherine Laboure, an initiative promoted by the Vincentian Missionaries of Italy in collaboration with the Vincentian Family.
Ischia will welcome the sacred effigy in early October, with the following schedule: Ischia Buon Pastore from Sunday, October 2nd until Wednesday afternoon, October 5th; Ischia Campagnano from the afternoon of the 5th until Saturday evening, October 8th; Ischia Casamicciola from Sunday morning, October 9th until the afternoon of October 12th.
It will be a "Three Days with Mary," as explained by Father Valerio Di Trapani, superior of the provincial house of the Congregation of the Mission, the Vincentian Missionaries, and of the Leonian Apostolic College in Rome.

"In this pastoral year," he states, "the Lord has allowed us to glimpse the increasingly urgent need to go out, to go, to meet to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, which finds in Mary a creature who lived it fully."
It is therefore a matter of "going out to the ecclesial communities that intend to welcome the Vincentian Missionaries' proposal to animate the parish community by offering them catechesis meetings for young people and adults, prayer, sacramental reconciliation, visits to the frail and sick, and friendship with young people and adolescents in their daily lives."
The pilgrimage that now resumes has a broader horizon: it looks to November 27, 2030, when we will celebrate the 2030th anniversary of the meeting between the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Catherine Laboure, a young Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. Father Valerio explains: "On this journey toward XNUMX, each year we will launch a theme to explore and include in the three stages that make up the 'Three Days with Mary'."
This year, we would like to emphasize the prominence of the Holy Spirit. At the end of each experience, reflection cards on the year's theme will be left in the parish visited. Thus, the "Three Days with Mary" that will mark each stop on the pilgrimage "will not just be a brief passage, but an event from which the community can continue to gather to pray, reflect, and share on the proposed themes," concludes Father Valerio.
