As reported by a citizen to Europa Verde Regional Councilor Francesco Emilio Borrelli, on Via Alfonso D'Aragona in Naples, an excavation was carried out some time ago for work on Metro Line 2, but the hole was never filled in. Now, that hole has become a sort of landfill.
“This is the excavation they made when they drilled into the metro line 2. It has been abandoned like this for 6/8 months.” - explains the reporter.
The citizen's report refers to the construction site located above the Line 2 subway tunnel, which was placed under sequestration last April after a high-voltage cable was cut by a surface drill that apparently broke through the roof of the subway tunnel.
"We forwarded the residents' report to the municipal offices to understand why the construction site is abandoned and whether the investigations are still ongoing or completed. In any case, we need to speed up the procedures because that excavation cannot remain like this forever since it has now also become a landfill." - declared Borrelli.
