The Carditello Festival closes with 14 thousand spectators

The curtain falls on the Carditello Festival 2022 and it is already time to take stock for the Fondazione Real Sito di Carditello.

The third edition of the musical festival, dedicated to the beauty of Campania Felix and the rebirth of the Bourbon Palace, ended with great public success and a balanced budget, thanks to the support of the Campania Region and Scabec SpA.

Just look at the numbers to better understand the results achieved: 100.000 euros budget; 14.000 spectators; 1 month of events; 17 artists; 2 Orchestras; 7 concerts; 5 exclusives for Campania; 50 extras who participated in the community theater; 1 Popular Opera (original production conceived and produced by the Foundation); 1 format dedicated to Neapolitan music; 1 green village set up by Elisa in the Carditello woods; the return of Riccardo Cocciante on stage after 10 years.

“A success that exceeded all expectations in terms of valorization, reputation and visibility - explains Giuseppe Russo, general director of the Real Sito Foundation of Carditello - thanks to the support of the Campania Region and Scabec. A tremendous organizational effort by all the women and men of Carditello and a result that rewards the artistic choices of our festival.

We are already starting to work to present the 2023 program, trying to make the most of the experiences we have gained. From next year we aim to organize the events entirely in-house, without delegating to external agencies, in order to offer qualitatively better services and above all avoid inconveniences to the public, as happened to spectators who had purchased the ticket for the Cocciante concert in Pompeii”.

An extraordinary achievement with many artists and exceptional guests such as: Riccardo Cocciante, with the "Cocciante canta Cocciante" tour; Mario Incudine, with the first popular opera on Carditello; Eduardo De Crescenzo, with piano by Julian Oliver Mazzariello and an introduction by journalist Federico Vacalebre; Alice, accompanied on piano by maestro Carlo Guaitoli; Elisa with the "Back to the Future Live Tour"; Raiz (Almamegretta), Enzo Gragnaniello, 'O Zulù (99 Posse), Francesco di Bella (24 Grana), FLO, Maldestro, Gnut, Irene Scarpato (Suonne d'Ajere), and Simona Boo, protagonists of Passione Live.

“The Carditello Festival is not just an important musical event - says Luigi Nicolais, president of the Real Sito di Carditello Foundation - but it also represents an investment in the local area, if we consider only the purchase of the stage in 2021 and the impact generated by the Opera popolare su Carditello, which we conceived and produced with the festival's artistic direction and which we will soon take on tour.

Our mission focuses precisely on the social role of museums and cultural sites, and on their ability to contribute to regional change by producing new formats, sharing the values ​​of legality, ensuring increasingly inclusive enjoyment, and encouraging community participation not only in culture but also in environmental issues and through civic activism.

In particular, Riccardo Cocciante and Elisa have chosen the Carditello Festival to launch a message linked to a new humanism and environmental sustainability, also within the SDG Action campaign on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Music For The Planet project, created by Music Innovation Hub and AWorld in favor of Legambiente, for the planting of trees in Italy.

A new cultural, social and economic paradigm, thanks to the voice of artists known and loved throughout the world who today, through the musical review, become true testimonials of the Reggia di Carditello and Campania Felix.

In Carditello we do not have large budgets and we do not host valuable paintings, but we preserve an entire collection of falls and rebirths that represent the cultural heritage and human capital of the Foundation. Values ​​that we have decided to stage in the first popular Opera on the history of Carditello”.
